RUMOURS: Wolves tracking Mana Dembele

22 06 2010

Dembele has scored two goals in ten games for the French club.

The Daily Mail claims that both Wolves and Watford are interested in Chateauroux striker Mana Dembele.

The 21-year-old Frenchman is relatively unknown and would be a fairly big gamble for Mick McCarthy to take considering he can only name 25 players this season.

TRANSFER NEWS: Guirane N’Daw next through the Molineux door?

20 06 2010

N'Daw has 31 caps for Senegal, scoring two goals.

According to The People Wolves have agreed a £1.75m fee for Senegalese midfielder Guirane N’Daw.

I reported at the end of May that Wolves had registered a interest and at the time St. Etienne’s Sporting Director Damien Comolli told the Sunday Mercury:

“We’ve had an approach from Wolves for Guirane. We are only at the beginning of discussions.”

N’Daw had been on loan at St. Etienne and a permanent move had been expected from Nantes but Wolves look to have hijacked the deal.

Here are a couple of N’Daw’s goals:

Guedioura misses out once again

18 06 2010

Guedioura made his debut in Algeria's warm-up game against Ireland.

Despite Algeria losing their first group game to Slovenia, Adlene Guedioura has failed to grab a starting position for the game against England tonight.

Guedioura was a late sub in the first game and Algeria have copied England in dropping their keeper for the game.

Here are tonight’s teams:

England: James, Johnson, Carragher, Terry, Ashley Cole, Lennon, Barry, Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney, Heskey.
Subs: Green, Dawson, Crouch, Joe Cole, Warnock, Upson, Milner, Wright-Phillips, Defoe, King, Carrick, Hart.

Algeria: M’Bohli, Bougherra, Belhadj, Yahia, Kadir, Yebda, Lacen, Halliche, Boudebouz, Ziani, Matmour.
Subs: Gaouaoui, Mansouri, Ghezzal, Saifi, Djebbour, Bellaid, Laifaoui, Guedioura, Medjani, Mesbah, Abdoun, Chaouchi.

Referee: Ravshan Irmatov (Uzbekistan)

*Nenad Milijas was an unused substitute in Serbia’s suprising 1-0 win over Germany earlier.

BREAKING NEWS: Mouyokolo signs four-year-deal

18 06 2010

Mouyokolo moved to Hull in 2009's January transfer window.

Wolves have now confirmed the signing of Hull City defender Steven Mouyokolo.

The 23-year-old Frenchman has signed a four-year-deal with the option of a fifth and as per club policy, he mvoes for an undisclosed fee.

Let’s hope his old club-mate Stephen Hunt will be following him before too long.

Nenad Milijas loses his place for Serbia’s crucial game

18 06 2010

Nenad Milijas was today dropped to the bench for Serbia’s second Group D match against Germany.

He was less than impressive in the opening game against Ghana and Kuzmanovic has replaced him in the centre of midfield.

At the time of writing the game is ten minutes old and Wolves manager Mick McCarthy is the co-commentator on BBC 1 & HD.

RUMOURS: Double signing of Stephen Hunt and Steven Mouyokolo to be confirmed tomorrow

17 06 2010

Wolves had bids rejected for Hunt in January.

Rumours are rife on internet message boards that Wolves will tomorrow announce the signings of Stephen Hunt and Steven Mouyokolo from Hull.

As I reported yesterday, sources in France claim a deal is in place for Mouyokolo and Mick McCarthy has always been a long-term admirer of Hunt.

One poster claims that there has been a press conference called for midday. Sporthull.co.uk always seems certain that Mouyokolo in particular will join.

Steven Mouyokolo to sign for Wolves?

16 06 2010

Mouyokolo made 23 league appearances for Hull last season

According to the French website ”EspoirsduFootball.com” Wolves will sign Hull’s French defender Steven Mouyokolo.

The 23-year-old has attracted scouts from the country’s top teams including both Arsenal and Liverpool but this website is reporting that we are set to sign the lad.

Now my French isn’t the greatest but their article roughly translates as:

“The young French defender Steven Hull City Mouyokolo evolve next season at Wolverhampton in the English Premier League.
Moved to England last season from Boulogne sur Mer, it will therefore remain a season at Hull City, relegation to Championship.

The Congolese-born French was more coveted or months of insistence by Arsenal, Chelsea, Blackburn or Fulham. He granted an interview to EspoirsduFootball.com.”

It was recently reported in the Times that Hull have offered the defender a new four-year-deal in an attempt to ward off potential buyers.
